What to expect at your first massage therapy visit.

Getting the most of of your massage is important to your health and your pocket book! Here are some tips to help you get the best massage ever.

Before you go:

  • When making your appointment, make sure you address if you have any allergies or injuries. Your massage therapist can prepare hypoallergenic oils and any accommodations to keep you comfortable.
  • Don't eat a big meal (a small snack is fine) or drink alcoholic beverages or coffee right before your session.
  • Dress in comfortable clothes that can be slipped off easily (or kept on).
During check-in:
  • If it is your first time at a facility, be sure to arrive 10-15 minutes early.
  • Be sure to mention any illnesses, injuries or allergies on your intake form.
In the massage room:
  • Undress only as much as you are comfortable with.
  • Remove dangling earrings, chunky necklaces or watches, and anything else that may poke or pinch you.
  • Speak up. Tell your massage therapist if you're nervous, want to change the music, or change the temperature in the room. He/she will make adjustments so you can have a wonderful experience.
  • Relax. Don't worry about any body imperfections. Your massage therapist has seen it all and will be professional.
We look forward to seeing you at the wellness center! If you have any questions about massage etiquette, don’t hesitate to ask or give us a call.
