The FAST Procedure - Treating Tendon Pain

Get back to your active life
  FAST ™

An innovative procedure that relieves tendon pain...FAST!

Until now, the options for treating tendon pain were rest, physical therapy, medications, or an open surgical procedure. Limited to these treatment options, it could take months or years to recover and get back to daily activities.

FAST ™ tenotomy is a treatment option designed to remove the source of tendon pain. The innovative FAST ™ tenotomy procedure (Fasciotomy and Surgical Tenotomy) is a minimally invasive treatment designed to remove tendon scar tissue (the source of pain) without disturbing the surrounding healthy tendon tissue.

Safely remove damaged tissue

During the procedure, which is performed using a local anesthetic to numb the area, ultrasound is used to identify the location of the scar tissue. Once found, a small probe is inserted into the damaged tendon. The probe delivers ultrasonic energy which cuts, breaks up and removes damaged tissue safely and quickly. The procedure is minimally invasive, using only a small adhesive bandage to cover the incision, and can be done in the office setting in as little as 15 minutes.

The FAST™ advantage

Traditional open surgeries may recover several months or even years of recover and physical therapy; the FAST tenotomy procedure recovery period averages one to two months. Following the short recovery, a full return to normal activity is expected.

For injuries such as:
  • Tennis elbow
  • Golfer's elbow
  • Jumper's knee
  • Achilles tendonitis
  • Plantar fasciitis
