Bellin Health Partners and Holy Family Memorial to Collaborate
GREEN BAY/MANITOWOC — Bellin Health Partners and Holy Family Memorial have entered into a collaborative business relationship focused on improving care and reducing healthcare costs for employers and individual consumers.
“We are two strong, independent regional healthcare systems with the shared mission of improving the health of our communities in this region by providing top quality healthcare and reducing its cost,” said Mark Herzog, president & CEO of Holy Family Memorial. “We can accomplish this goal, in part, by leveraging innovative strategies, including collaboration with others. With Bellin Health Partners, we have a strong business partner to help make a significant impact in Northeast Wisconsin.”
The organizations are steadfast that this is not a merger, or the precursor to one, but an opportunity created by changing expectations and methods of payment for healthcare. The health systems are looking forward to sharing best practices, advancing clinical quality and value to customers, developing joint initiatives and offerings, and broadening the services available to consumers.
“This is a new era in healthcare and it presents an opportunity to better understand the needs of consumers and focus on quality initiatives as a way to help control costs,” said George Kerwin, president & CEO of Bellin Health. “This business collaboration is great news for consumers and employers who are looking to control the cost of providing healthcare coverage while improving the health of their employees.”
Through the collaboration, Holy Family Memorial will participate in Bellin Health Partners, a physician-led accountable care organization and network of healthcare organizations, physicians and mid-level providers. Holy Family Memorial’s participation elevates Bellin Health Partners’ ability to provide better products and services to health insurance organizations and allows Holy Family Memorial to extend its mission to more consumers in Northeast Wisconsin.
“Bellin Health and Holy Family Memorial have the strongest quality and efficiency performance scores of all healthcare networks in Northeast Wisconsin, as determined by data from commercial insurers,” said Herzog. “This new collaboration adds breadth and depth to the ability of both of our high-performing health networks to advance the vitality of employers and workforces by utilizing proven processes.”
