Wishes Granted to Cancer Patients
Each year since 2008 the Carol Rose Wester Run has been held in Manitowoc to honor the memory of Carol and help people dealing with the diagnosis and treatment of Cancer. The money raised is used to grant wishes to people undergoing treatment at Holy Family Memorial’s Cancer Center. Recently race founders from Carol’s family gathered with some of the people who were granted wishes during the past year.
They are pictured here around the Carol Rose Wester Memorial Race brick in the Haven of Hope Garden at the HFM Cancer Center. Shown from left to right are: Elizabeth Becker (Carol’s granddaughter), Cal Wester (Carol’s husband), Stephany Mangan (Carol’s granddaughter), Eileen Bunch who received a scrapbooking class for herself and family members, Patrick Steffen who received a Packer football and memorabilia, Patrick’s mother Karen Steffen, and Floyd & Mary Johnson who received a 31st Anniversary celebration dinner for two.
