Rising Star Award

Manitowoc, WI ─ CareTech Solutions, an information technology (IT) and web products and services company serving more than 200 U.S. hospitals and health systems, recognized Holy Family Memorial with a 2012 Rising Star Award. The Rising Star Award program, established in 2008, is an opportunity for CareTech to recognize its hospital partners who exemplify leadership in using information technology (IT) as a strategic advantage at their organization.

HFM is recognized for its continued commitment to maintaining HIMSS Analytics Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Adoption Level 6. Being designated a Stage 6 hospital means that HFM’s medical records are almost fully automated and paperless. This creates patient convenience and improves patient safety and care.

HFM was also recognized for being chosen to participate in the American Hospital Association (AHA) “Hospital and Care Systems of the Future – Reform Roadmap,” in which HFM was asked to nationally share its expertise in creating the delivery system of the future.

Holy Family Memorial joins seven national health institutions: Blanchard Valley Health System, Findlay, Ohio; Cancer Treatment Centers of America, nationwide; Continuum Health Partners, New York City, N.Y.; Froedtert Health, Milwaukee, Wis.; Oakwood Healthcare, Dearborn, Mich.; St. Luke’s Hospital & Health Network, Bethlehem, Pa; and Detroit Medical Center, Detroit, Mich.

Recipients of the award chose to undertake various IT initiatives that advanced their delivery of patient care, delivered substantial business results to their organization and made IT an available, reliable, connectivity tool for patients and providers.

Steven Driggers, MD, CMO/VP of HFM, notes that this award demonstrates continued commitment to electronic systems as both vital communications tools between all levels of care providers, and as a method of monitoring quality of care for populations of patients seeking our services. “We are committed to using these systems to assure patients receive all indicated care, at the appropriate time and place, without unneeded repetition and with immediate availability of information to their next caregiver.”
