P.A.D. Screening Jan 15
Holy Family Memorial Holds P.A.D. Screening
The HFM Heart & Vascular Center will hold a peripheral arterial disease (P.A.D.) screening on January 15, from 3 – 7 p.m.
P.A.D. is a disease in which plaque builds up in the arteries that carry blood to the head, organs, and limbs causing blockage in the flow of blood.
The screening is for persons who are experiencing at least one of the following symptoms: pain while walking, leg cramping, cold hands or feet, leg ulcers, pale toes or non-healing leg wounds, numbness or tingling limbs, extreme weakness and loss or absence of hair on limbs. Persons who smoke, have diabetes, high blood pressure and a family history of the disease are at high risk for P.A.D.
Appointments are required and can be made by calling 920-320-2519. Cost for the screening is $5.00.
