Holy Family Memorial Receives Regional and National Attention

Holy Family Memorial is receiving quite a bit of attention, both regionally and nationally. HFM’s efforts to improve healthcare delivery and coordination, as well as its internal efforts to positively shape its own culture, have created quite a buzz. In September, Mary Maurer, Business Development and Chief Innovation Officer, will travel to Miami, Florida where she will participate in the Consumer Goods Growth and Innovation Forum. Maurer will present New Business Models to Spur Growth and Revenue, highlighting HFM’s efforts in continually challenging status quo thinking and working toward an ideal future state.

Mark Herzog, HFM’s President and CEO, will travel to Chicago in October to participate in the Open Innovation Leadership Forum’s Building the Innovation System of the 21st Century. Herzog will also present at the National Center for Healthcare Leadership’s Human Capital Investment Conference in Chicago in November on the topic of The HFM Culture Shaping Story.

The American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) has invited Holy Family Memorial to speak at its 2013 Congress on Healthcare Leadership in Chicago next March. ACHE is an international professional society of more than 40,000 healthcare executives. Herzog will present Applying Lean, Six Sigma and Blue Ocean Thinking to Your Reform Strategy. In this talk, Mark will discuss how HFM has prepared itself for Healthcare Reform, and in many ways is ahead of most healthcare networks nationwide. Quite notably, Herzog presented at ACHE Congress just earlier this year.

In a second ACHE Congress presentation, HFM will present its culture-shaping efforts and the success that the system has had strengthening employee satisfaction and ownership of the HFM mission. This presentation - Shape It For Results! - will be given by Laura Fielding, Director of Human Resources, Sara Hockers, Director of Physician Support Services, and Amy Stockhausen, M.D., Associate Medical Director at HFM.

“It’s truly validating of the hard work that our HFM family is doing to be chosen to present at all; and we have been selected twice!” said Herzog. HFM was selected from over 500 applicants for presentation. ACHE Congress will be held in March 2013 in Chicago.
