Patrick Reynolds to Speak in Manitowoc
Holy Family Memorial and Broadwind Towers are joining forces to bring nationally recognized anti-tobacco advocate Patrick Reynolds to Manitowoc. Reynolds will present “Tobacco Wars: The Battle for a Smoke Free Society,” at an HFM Health Forum on Friday, September 12 at the Holiday Inn, Manitowoc. The event begins with a continental breakfast at 7 a.m. followed by the presentation from 7:30 – 8:30 a.m.
As part of his visit to Manitowoc, Reynolds will also be presenting to the employees of Broadwind Towers. Broadwind Energy, Inc., the parent company of Broadwind Towers, recently launched a company-wide wellness program and has partnered with HFM for onsite wellness activities including health coaching sessions and wellness education classes.
Patrick Reynolds is the grandson of tobacco company founder, R.J. Reynolds. After Patrick Reynolds witnessed first-hand how the family’s brands killed his father and eldest brother, he turned his back on the cigarette industry and became an advocate for a smoke-free society. His speeches before congress and state legislatures, his appearances on TV and radio, and his live talks to youth have made him a nationally known figure in the battle for a tobacco free America.
HFM’s health forum event on September 12 is open to the entire community. To register for this event please go to www.hfmhealth.org/register
HFM has a strong focus on Population Health - improving the health outcomes and lowering the long-term healthcare expenses of a group of individuals within a population. Bringing Reynolds to Manitowoc is one way in which HFM strives to inform and educate the community on making the best decisions to positively impact their health.
