HFM Leaders Help Fuel National Conversations on Healthcare
Holy Family Memorial President and Chief Executive Officer Mark Herzog and Mary Maurer, Vice President of Community Engagement and Chief Innovation Officer, recently participated in national and regional discussions on healthcare and innovation.
At the 2015 HealthLeaders Media CEO Exchange, Herzog was among the few selected healthcare leaders in the nation asked to participate in a roundtable discussion on the topic of “Preparing for the Future of Healthcare.” Herzog addressed how the central hub of healthcare delivery today has shifted from acute hospitals to a more outpatient focused model. He discussed how HFM has evaluated looking at a different healthcare delivery model to fulfill its mission to help individuals and communities achieve healthier lives.
Herzog was also featured in the December issue of HealthLeaders discussing HFM’s efforts to maintain quality while controlling costs. In the HealthLeaders June 2015Intelligence Report, 80 percent of healthcare leaders indicated that cost containment efforts were not negatively impacting quality of care. In the article, Herzog said when looking at process improvement HFM takes into consideration how a change will add value for customers, including safety and quality, as opposed to detracting from them.
Maurer participated in Insight Publication’s first Innovation Roundtables in northeastern Wisconsin’s last month. Maurer was instrumental in organizing the roundtable discussion to help bring together innovation leaders in the area to share and discover innovative ideas. The Innovation Roundtables format provides an intimate, small-group setting for innovation leaders to collaborate and discuss concepts, tools and best practicing for improving innovation activities within organizations.
