HFM earns Wisconsin Forward Award, Mastery Level
Holy Family Memorial has earned the “Mastery” level honor of the prestigious Wisconsin Forward Award. The award is given by the Wisconsin Center for Performance Excellence, a statewide program that recognizes organizations who have made significant achievements in continuous improvement and performance excellence.
According to the Wisconsin Center for Performance Excellence, many organizations participate in the Wisconsin Forward Award as a way to learn and improve. The WFA process can help organizational leaders better understand what is working well and what they should be focusing their improvement efforts.
“Quality and patient safety is our top priority and it’s wonderful to be recognized for our hard work and continuous improvements,” said Vicki Wetenkamp, CPHQ, FACHE, HFM Administrative Director of Clinical & Service Excellence. “This was a phenomenal experience of organizational awareness, learning and improvement, and the feedback we received from the examiner team will be integrated into the fabric of our organization.”
The award is modeled after the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. WFA’s evaluation process is based on the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence, which provides a framework and criteria to guide organizational performance in seven categories—leadership, strategic planning, customer and market focus, measurement, analysis and knowledge management, workforce focus, operations focus and results. Organizations go through a rigorous application process, including organizational reviews, examiner interviews, a site visit and final evaluations by a WFA panel of judges.
“We are honored to receive such recognition from the Wisconsin Forward Award,” says HFM President & CEO Mark Herzog. “This award is a reflection of our commitment to excellence in delivering world-class healthcare.”
