Holy Family Memorial offers Good Canine Citizen information session.
Holy Family Memorial and the Manitowoc County Kennel Club are offering a free Canine Good Citizen / Therapy Dog information session. The session is for those interested in certifying their canine companions for pet therapy volunteer opportunities at area hospitals, schools and assisted living facilities. The session will be held on Saturday, August 27, from 9-11 a.m. at the Manitowoc County Kennel Club, 40 Albert Drive in Manitowoc, WI.
Handlers may also bring their dogs to the information session to determine if their dog is ready to take the Canine Good Citizen test. This informational session will familiarize you with the AKC Canine Good Citizen program as well as the Therapy Dog International organization and what is needed to acquire the titles of “CGC” and “TDI”, credentials required for pet therapy visits.
The session will also include information on becoming an HFM Hospice volunteer and/or pet therapy program.
Registration for the information session is required. To register or for more information, visit hfmhealth.org/canine-certification-2016 or call Cindee Vogel, HFM hospice core specialist, at (920) 320-4232.
