Holy Family Memorial recognizes Sharon Nonnemacher, Food Services, and hospice volunteers Sandy Brost and Geri Heusterberg as first quarter winners for the HFM Inspired Caring Award.
Nonnemacher’s nominator wrote, “Sharon brings compassion and a smile to work every day. Her warm sense of humor and general care for the people she works with makes her a real gem in the department. She is approachable and always very positive no matter what the day brings.”
Working together as team, you can find Brost and Huesterberg visiting hospice patients to provide respite, companionship, and socialization. In 2016, both volunteers provided over 330 hours of hospice volunteer care. Brost and Huesterberg’s nominator wrote, “Both ladies have hearts of gold. Their patients get excited when they arrive for their visits and are tearful when it’s time for them to leave.”
The Inspired Caring Award is presented quarterly to an employee and volunteer who exemplify HFM’s core values of stewardship, excellence, respect, innovative care, and compassion. HFM employees have the opportunity each quarter to nominate a colleague or volunteer who strongly demonstrates all of the core values.
