HFM nurse honored with DAISY award.

Holy Family Memorial registered nurse Crystal Selsing was honored with The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. She is the 20th HFM employee to receive the award. The Daisy award recognizes nurses who go above and beyond in providing excellent care to their patients every day.

Selsing works as a patient nurse navigator and educator at HFM Lakeshore Orthopaedics. She was nominated by a patient who wrote, “Crystal has been very caring to me during countless times that I have talked to her on the phone about my condition. Her caring attitude and compassion, made dealing with my condition not as bad as it could be. It was great to finally put a face with a name who assisted me many times.”

HFM recognizes a DAISY Award recipient each quarter and has been doing so since 2011. Winners receive a Healer's Touch hand carved serpentine stone statue depicting a nurse and patient, a Daisy Award pin and certificate, as well as Cinnabon rolls—a favorite of Patrick Barnes, whose family was the creator of this award.

Patients, family members of patients, or colleagues can nominate nurses for The DAISY Award. If you or someone close to you received care from an extraordinary HFM nurse, complete a nomination form at hfmhealth.org/daisy.
