Manitowoc County residents can be proud to say they have one of the nation’s top community hospitals in their own backyard. Holy Family Memorial has been named one of the 100 Great Community Hospitals for 2017 by Becker’s Hospital Review®. Hospitals featured on this list are recognized for their quality, patient satisfaction, and overall service excellence. This is the second consecutive year that HFM has earned this distinguished honor!

“We are honored to be recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review for the second year in a row and to be recognized among such a prestigious group of other health care networks across the nation,” said HFM President and CEO Mark Herzog. “This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our providers and staff and the world class care they provide to our patients every single day.”

The institutions featured on the Top 100 list play a key role in their communities as the centerpiece for health care. In creating the Top 100 list, Becker’s selected hospitals based on rankings and awards from organizations such as the National Rural Health Association, iVantage Health Analytics, Truven Health Analytics, Healthgrades, CareChex, the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the Leapfrog Group. Becker’s Hospital Review defines a “community hospital” as one with fewer than 550 beds and minimal teaching programs. HFM is one of only six community hospitals in Wisconsin to make the 2017 list.

HFM has served Manitowoc County since 1899, and employs more than 1,100 health care professionals. The network includes more than 15 clinics, retail pharmacies, a wellness center and a rehabilitation facility. In 2016, HFM contributed almost $10 million in total community benefit programming to the poor, uninsured and underinsured.
