HFM nurse honored with DAISY award 2017.

Roberta Kelly

Holy Family Memorial registered nurse Roberta Kelley was honored with The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. She is the 21st HFM employee to receive the award. The Daisy award recognizes nurses who go above and beyond in providing excellent care to their patients every day.

Roberta is a nurse in the Emergency Department at HFM Medical Center. She was nominated by a patient’s daughter who wrote, “My mom came into the Holy Family Memorial ER with severe pain. She’s been down this road before dealing with her stage 4 cancer. She was dealing with pain for days and had begun to give up completely. I couldn’t believe those words came out of her mouth. My mom is so strong and brave, I was in disbelief. It was because of Roberta’s loving care and compassion that convinced my mom not to give up and to continue her fight.”

HFM recognizes a DAISY Award recipient each quarter and has been doing so since 2011. Winners receive a Healer's Touch hand carved serpentine stone statue depicting a nurse and patient, a Daisy Award pin and certificate, as well as Cinnabon rolls—a favorite of Patrick Barnes, whose family was the creator of this award.

Patients, family members of patients, or colleagues can nominate nurses for The DAISY Award. If you or someone close to you received care from an extraordinary HFM nurse, complete a nomination form at hfmhealth.org/daisy.
