Cassandra Pasternak, a registered nurse in the Medical/Surgical Unit at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, was honored with The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses an HFM. The DAISY award recognizes nurses who go above and beyond in providing excellent care to their patients every day.
Pasternak’s nominator wrote, “I had surgery last winter at HFM. I don’t remember a lot about my stay, but I do remember the kindness and compassion of the nurse on the day shift that took care of me. Cassandra was amazing. She had patience and kindness and yet was firm with her instructions. It’s not often your nurse can truly look past who you are and your behavior to understand what you are going through. Thank you, Cassandra, for showing what a real nurse does and your dedication, not only to your patients, but to HFM.”
Patients, family members of patients, or colleagues can nominate nurses for The DAISY Award. If you or someone close to you received care from an extraordinary HFM nurse, complete a nomination at hfmhealth.org/daisy.
