Night of Excellence winners

 

Holy Family Memorial announced the winners for the 14th Annual Night of Excellence on July 11. The annual awards banquet celebrated the accomplishments of Manitowoc County high school athletes, coaches, teams, and Special Olympics athletes.

The winners are as follows:

Team of the Year:

  • Winner: Roncalli High School Boys Basketball
  • Runner Up: Valders High School, Cross Country
  • Second Runner Up: Valders High School Boys Basketball

Coach of the Year:

  • Winner: Bill Dietrich, Cross Country, Valders High School
  • Runner Up: Joe Garceau, Boys Basketball, Roncalli High School
  • Second Runner Up: Dave Uhlhorn, Football, Manitowoc Lutheran High School

 

 

Male Athlete of the Year:

 

  • Winner: Mitchel Schneider, Roncalli High School
  • Runner Up: Brock Staudt, Manitowoc Lutheran High School

Female Athlete of the Year:

  • Winner: Lauren Griepentrog, Manitowoc Lutheran High School
  • Runner Up: Alissa Wagner, Valders High School
  • Second Runner Up: Mia Strazny, Manitowoc Lincoln High School

Comeback Athlete of the Year:

  • Winner: Jordyn Schmidt, Manitowoc Lincoln High School
  • Runner Up: Emma Wagner, Valders High School

Male Breakthrough Athlete of the Year:

  • Runner Up: Aaron Lischka, Manitowoc Lutheran High School
  • Second Runner Up: Bryce Urbanek, Mishicot High School

Female Breakthrough Athlete of the Year:

  • Winner: Grace Melso, Manitowoc Lutheran High School
  • Runner Up: Kendra Hammel, Valders High School

Special Olympian of the Year Award:

  • Mitchell Finnel – Sportsmanship Award
  • Mike Pribek – Leadership Award
  • Ellen LeClair – Teamwork Award

Brooke Behrendt, Two Rivers High School, and Brock Staudt, Manitowoc Lutheran High School, received the Male and Female Commitment to Excellence Scholarship. Both students each received a $500 college scholarship.
