Holy Family Memorial is pleased to award the 2019 Karen Kvalo Deehr Memorial Scholarship to Crystal Selsing. The scholarship is awarded annually to an HFM employee pursuing am advanced degree in a health care-related field.
Selsing began her career with HFM in 2007 and is a registered nurse at HFM Lakeshore Orthopaedics. She is currently attending Holy Family College to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing to further her nursing career.
The scholarship was established in honor of Karen Kvalo Deehr, who was the director of HFM’s Home Health Care and Hospice Department from 1986 through 1995. Deehr earned her bachelor’s degree in health care administration one month prior to her passing. Her family established the scholarship to encourage Holy Family Memorial employees to pursue or continue their education just as Karen did.
