HFM Lakeshore Orthopaedics welcomes Dr. Richard Manos, fellowship-trained spine surgeon.

Richard ManosHFM Lakeshore Orthopaedics is pleased to welcome its newest physician, Dr. Richard Manos, a fellowship-trained spine surgeon. Dr. Manos has over 25 years of experience and has expertise in spinal deformity and both minimally invasive and complex spinal revision surgery. He will see patients at HFM Lakeshore Orthopaedics’ locations in Manitowoc and Sheboygan.

Dr. Manos earned his medical degree from Michigan State University and completed an internship and residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego. After his residency, he pursued a year-long spine fellowship from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. Dr. Manos is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons.

Dr. Manos has a track record of successfully developing comprehensive spine programs for health care systems. He has a special clinical interest in nonoperative and operative care for all spinal conditions, age-related spinal conditions, injuries of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine, and minimally invasive and motion preserving spine procedures. Dr. Manos also specializes in both cervical and lumbar artificial disc replacement surgery, kyphoplasty and vertebroplasty to treat compression fractures, and has additional training to care for complex spine and spinal cord problems including spinal deformities, spine trauma, and revision spine surgeries.

"I believe in a comprehensive approach to spinal care that involves primary care, physiatry, physical therapy, chiropractic and other alternative forms of medicine to treat the patient as an individual,” says Dr. Manos. “Surgery is a very small part of the equation. Each patients’ spinal condition is unique to that individual and their life, so it needs to be treated that way."

Dr. Manos is looking forward to joining the community. He is an avid Green Bay Packers fan and enjoys spending time outdoors with his family.

Dr. Manos is now accepting new patients. To schedule an appointment with him, call HFM Lakeshore Orthopaedics at (920) 320-5241.
