HFM Maritime Marathon Donates to Peter’s Pantry

Earlier this spring the Holy Family Memorial (HFM) Maritime Marathon cancelled its 2020 event due to COVID-19.

When the Marathon shared news of the cancellation with already registered participants, it offered them the option of a registration refund or the ability to donate the funds to Peter’s Pantry, said Marathon committee member, Barb Bundy-Jost. Those early registrants overwhelmingly selected to donate their registration fees to the Pantry.

“People are hungry,” said Bundy-Jost, “and so donating to support people’s needs through Peter’s Pantry seemed like the way to go. Peter’s Pantry is one of the local organizations that assists with aid stations every year at the Marathon. And this is a good way for us to give back.”

The HFM Maritime Marathon will celebrate its tenth anniversary in 2021. The event encompasses full, half and relay marathon events. Proceeds from the run are donated to a local charity each year.
