Area employers encouraged to join HFM for National Employee Health and Fitness Day.

Holy Family Memorial (HFM) Wellness Center is encouraging area employers to participate in physical activity on National Employee Health and Fitness Day which is observed on Wednesday, May 19.

Participants are encouraged to aim for 30 minutes of physical activity. There are many physical and mental health benefits of regular exercise. It’s especially important during the pandemic to maintain health, boost the immune system, prevent weight gain, reduce stress and anxiety, and improve sleep.

In honor of National Employee Health and Fitness Day, the Wellness Center is offering free guest day passes to the public on May 19. Individuals will have an opportunity to use the facility’s free weights, cardio and strength training equipment, pool, sauna, indoor walk/run lap and participate in group exercise classes. In addition, the Wellness Center will waive the enrollment fee for any individuals who join that day.

Individuals or organizations who participate in The Chamber of Manitowoc County’s You’re It! Get Fit! challenge have an opportunity to win some great prizes. To enter the challenge:

  • Participants must engage in 30 minutes of physical activity (does not need to be consecutive)
  • Attend a free class/session offered through The Chamber of Manitowoc County’s You’re It! Get Fit! Challenge or share a photo doing a fitness activity with the hashtag: #youreitgetfit on Facebook or Instagram
