HFM offers Saturday mammogram appointments in October.

Manitowoc, Wis., (September 9, 2022) – This October during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Froedtert Holy Family Memorial Hospital, will offer 3D screening mammogram appointments on Saturdays from 7-11:30 a.m.

According to Lynn Baatz, MD, medical oncologist, 1 in 8 women are diagnosed with breast cancer. An annual mammogram starting at age 40 is a women’s best chance of finding breast cancer early when it is the most treatable. Froedtert Holy Family Memorial Hospital’s Women’s Imaging Center offers the most advanced 3D digital breast imaging technology to detect breast abnormalities. Dr. Baatz recommends women who have a family history of breast cancer speak to their primary care provider to see when the best time is to start having an annual mammogram.

"We hope that the extended hours will remove barriers to the women in our community who want to get their annual exams, but struggle to find time during the week," says Dawn Krueger, operations manager of the Women’s Imaging Center.
