Xa Xiong, MD Achieves Board Certification in Family Medicine
HFM Family Medicine physician Xa Xiong, MD, has achieved board certification from the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). Dr. Xiong is a primary care physician specializing in wellness programs, counseling, physical rehab and patient-centered care. He possesses excellent communication and cross-cultural skills, speaking both Hmong and English fluently.
According to the ABFM, this achievement is a meaningful indicator that a provider has the knowledge, experience and skills necessary to provide high-quality patient care. Board certified family physicians have demonstrated the ability and the commitment to lifelong learning, which is necessary to provide the high quality care that every patient deserves. Although board certification is voluntary, ABFM certification is recognized throughout the world as signifying excellence in the practice of Family Medicine. To maintain Board Certification, a family physician must actively keep pace with the latest advances in his or her specialty and demonstrate best practices for patient safety, communications and ethics.
Dr. Xiong received his medical degree from Spartan Health Sciences University School of Medicine in the West Indies. His residency was done at Fox Valley Family Practice in Appleton.
