Thursday, May 22, 2014 - Insight Innovation Award

Holy Family Memorial leaders Scott McMeans, Administrative Director of Change Management/Corporate Compliance; Mark Herzog, President and CEO; and Mary Maurer, Vice President of Business Development and Chief Innovation Officer accept the inaugural Insight Innovation Award in the “people” category at the 3rd Annual Technology & Human Innovation Networking Conference (THINC) on May 20 at UW-Fox Valley.

Holy Family Memorial has been named winner of the “people” category of Insight Magazines Innovation Awards.

HFM was chosen out of nearly 50 nominations received in five award categories - people, product, plant, process and integrating innovation.

The awards were established to shine the spotlight on New North businesses that are proven leaders in breakthrough technologies, processes and cultures. They make an important, positive impact on their companies, employees, customers, vendors, industries and communities. Whether it involves people, process, product or our planet, the goal of the award is to celebrate innovative ideas in the northeastern Wisconsin region.

“Seeing the depth and breadth of innovative practices and associated business results across our region was very reassuring and exciting,” said one of the judges. “All the applicants should be proud of their work and the winners represent the ‘best of the best’ and should be especially pleased in being recognized as leading the region in innovation.”

HFM was nominated for its successful journey to transform the care and delivery systems provided to the communities it serves through an accelerated cultural shaping effort. This effort has allowed the organization to “hardwire” change management principles and tools deep into the organizational culture and to deliver on its brand as an Innovative Caregiver. The judges stated that they were impressed by the depth in which HFM engaged its 1,200 employees with incremental improvement and “Blue Ocean Strategy” as they embraced an internal mantra of “Inspired Caring.”

HFM President and CEO Mark Herzog was pleased to receive the award and commented, “HFM and all healthcare providers are facing unprecedented changes with the Affordable Care Act and many uncertainties with health care exchanges and regulation. We are honored that our efforts to reposition our organization to meet these challenges has gained HFM recognition as a top organization in the New North region of Wisconsin. The citizens of Manitowoc County can take pride in their healthcare system which is made up of extraordinary professionals, providing inspired caring, who are their neighbors and friends.”
