High school career experience program

Holy Family Memorial is part of the Lakeshore Health Care Alliance (LSHCA), a collaboration of healthcare, educational and community organizations in Sheboygan and Manitowoc counties. The participating organizations worked hard to create a process where high school students can continue to learn about careers in healthcare, while allowing the healthcare organizations to maintain focus on patient care.

What is a high school career experience?

High School Career Experience events are interactive events for high school students in the LSHCA service area to learn about healthcare careers. Students learn about multiple career areas – they have the undivided attention of the professional presenters and have time to ask lots of questions. They often get a tour of the facility, and are also provided a packet of information to take home. Students also receive a completion certificate if they need attendance verification for classroom credit.

How often are these events held?

High School Career Experience are typically held once a semester, focusing on numerous careers within the organization. Information is sent to schools in advance and the guidance counselors are always willing to assist students.

How do I register?

To register for the events, students need to visit the LSHCA website and follow the link for the High School Career Experience.
