The Diabetes Center provides patients with the latest information on diabetes education, treatment and management. Through outpatient instruction, we can help you improve your diabetes and prevent or minimize diabetes-related complications. Our goal is to help you live an active, independent life.

Diabetes Self-Management Education* and Support (DSMES)

To successfully manage diabetes, you have to be actively involved. DSMES is a Medicare-covered service where patients can meet individually with a registered nurse and dietitian who specialize in diabetes management. You can get all your diabetes-related questions answered and attend four group classes, all to learn the vital information about healthy living with diabetes.

ADA Recognition

Diabetes Center is recognized by the American Diabetes Association (ADA) as a center that provides quality diabetes self-management education and support services. The most recent recognition was achieved from the American Diabetes Association for the period March 21, 2022 to March 21, 2026. The ADA is the nation’s leading voluntary health organization whose mission is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.


Diabetes Support Group

If you have pre-diabetes or Type 2 diabetes, join Registered Dietician Cher Zeddies and RN Diabetes Educator Amy Kanugh, of the Diabetes Center, to learn more about your condition and get support from others.
