Derek Bown, DC

Dr. Derek Bown is a Chiropractor who specializes in conservative spine care. He was one of the founding members of the Froedtert HFM Spine Team which is now a highly regarded, multi-disciplinary group that includes Orthopaedic Spine Surgery, Physiatry, Pain Management, Physical Therapy and Chiropractic care.

Dr. Bown received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. He then received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. Dr. Bown has completed extensive coursework in Spinal Rehabilitation and Clinical Nutrition. He completed a cohort with certification in AFMCP from the Institute for Functional Medicine in 2021.

Dr. Bown was in private clinical practice for 13 years before joining HFM in 2004. He is a native of Manitowoc, WI and has enjoyed “coming back home” since graduating from Chiropractic school. He is married to Manitowoc native Susan Bown, RN who is a member of our OR team at Froedtert FHFM hospital. They have 3 adult children and 3 grandsons. Dr. Bown enjoys visiting his children and grandsons whenever possible. He also enjoys cottage-life in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan with family and friends as well as hunting, fishing and golfing.
