Access to quality surgical care, ideally close to one's home, is a fundamental part of effective health care. Surgical patients often suffer from burdensome diseases or conditions, but the treatments themselves can also take their toll. I seek to serve my community by offering safe, minimally invasive surgery for a variety of conditions in a timely fashion. I try to minimize patients' need to travel, and I follow through with my patients until they have completely healed. I seek to help patients understand both their illness and their treatment, empowering them to become active participants in their successful recovery. I actively communicate with patients' other health care providers, taking a team-based approach to surgical care and recovery.

About
I grew up in central Ohio before attending Huntington University in Indiana. As an undergraduate, I first gained my interest in medicine and surgery while volunteering on international mission projects in Myanmar, Thailand, Dominican Republic, and Haiti. I returned to Columbus and completed medical school at the Ohio State University and my surgical residency at Mount Carmel Medical Center.
I moved to Wisconsin in 2008 after completing my training. Here, I sought to develop a broad general surgery practice to serve both the local community as well as patients abroad. I enjoy caring for a wide variety of patients, treating a wide array of conditions, and collaborating with the community of clinicians in the Froedtert Northeast Medical Group. I have continued volunteering overseas, taking teams of local health care workers on international service projects on an annual basis. I serve in a formal physician leadership role in the organization and I’m both excited and proud to see our health care team grow in partnership with Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin. I live in Manitowoc with my wife and two daughters. I enjoy cycling, watercolor painting, backcountry camping, reading, and drinking more than my fair share of good coffee.
