I believe that each patient should be fully educated about their condition so that they may participate in the decision-making process. Each patient’s lifestyle and functional expectations are different, and treatment is always tailored to the individual. For the majority of patients in my practice, nonsurgical treatment is the most appropriate first step. Surgery is only considered if all other treatment options have failed or if it is truly in the best interest of the patient. I am a perfectionist. If surgery is required, we do not leave the operating room until the end result is as perfect as possible. I love coming to work every day and consider it a great privilege when a patient places their trust in me by choosing me as their physician.

Dr. Ryan M. Dopirak is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who completed a fellowship in arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine. He specializes in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder and knee, including arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, 3-D templated reverse total shoulder replacement, surgical fixation of shoulder fractures, and arthroscopic treatment of ACL and meniscus tears.
Recognized for his expertise on the national level, Dr. Dopirak has accepted invitations to lecture, present research, or serve as a surgical instructor at more than 75 orthopaedic conferences. He has been a faculty member at courses sponsored by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Arthroscopy Association of North America, and San Diego Shoulder Institute.
Dr. Dopirak recently completed his Master’s Degree in Health care Quality and Safety. This has enabled his team to deliver high-value orthopaedic care to our community through innovative services. These include a specialized bone health clinic for patients with osteoporosis-related fractures, as well as an orthopaedic walk-in clinic, called Ortho Now. These services are the first of their kind in the region.
Outside of medicine, Dr Dopirak’s interests include fishing, hunting, strength training, basketball, and cooking. Most of his free time is spent with his wife, 3 sons, and 2 Bernese Mountain Dogs.
