About
I grew up in Des Moines, Iowa but was born in Canada and was raised in a bilingual home speaking Spanish and English. I was a critical care registered nurse at a level one trauma center for 7 years before I decided to pursue my advanced practice nursing degree from Georgetown University. While working in the CCU, I witnessed a lot of chronic medical problems become acute and life threatening. I participated in discussions that I felt would have been more meaningful, had they occurred prior to a crisis. That is what motivated me to become a family nurse practitioner. My husband and I joined Holy Family Memorial together in 2015 and he practices as a general surgeon. The community of Manitowoc has graciously opened its arms to me and has allowed me to be successful in growing my practice. I have been able to participate in many endeavors to improve the manner in which we provide healthcare here at Froedtert/Holy Family Memorial and serve as our Advance Practice Provider Medical Director for Primary Care. I am privileged to be able to participate in the health care of our community and I care deeply about the well-being and experiences of my patients. I practice medicine from a holistic, nursing perspective; honoring the dynamics between the body, mind and spirit.
