Honor or remember someone special this holiday with a light on the Holy Family Memorial Love Light Tree. The Love Light Tree will shine brightly in the atrium at the HFM Medical Center throughout the holiday season.

Holy Family Memorial is pleased to award the 2019 Karen Kvalo Deehr Memorial Scholarship to Crystal Selsing. The scholarship is awarded annually to an HFM employee pursuing am advanced degree in a health care-related field.

Holy Family Memorial is pleased to welcome Paul Koch, MD to the team of hospitalists at the HFM Medical Center. Dr. Koch will provide patient care in the inpatient setting throughout a patient’s hospital stay and will coordinate care and consult specialists as necessary.

Holy Family Memorial is hosting a Community Town Hall on Tuesday, October 15 at 5 p.m. in the Manitowoc Conference Room at the HFM Medical Center, 2300 Western Avenue, Manitowoc.

To kick off National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Holy Family Memorial Women’s Imaging Center and Lakeshore Radiology Associates will be offering mammography services on Saturdays in the month of October by appointment. Saturday screenings will be available from 6:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The public is invited to celebrate the spirt and traditions of fall at Holy Family Memorial’s (HFM) first annual Harvest Festival. Honoring fall traditions, the Festival provides safe, family-friendly activities and environment for all ages on Friday, October 25, from 4 – 7 pm.

Holy Family Memorial (HFM) will celebrate its 120th anniversary with a public open house on Saturday, September 28, 2019. That day marks the actual date the original Holy Family Hospital opened its doors in 1899.

Holy Family Memorial is pleased to announce audiologist Julia Bell, AuD, CCC-A, has joined HFM Hearing and Balance Clinic. Dr. Bell has nearly 20 years of audiology experience and offers a wide scope of audiology services, including adult and pediatric hearing evaluations, assessment and treatment of tinnitus, hearing aid fittings, assistive listening devices, balance evaluations, and hearing protective devices.

Nikki Spindler, a registered nurse who works in the Emergency Department at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, was recently honored with The DAISY Award^® For Extraordinary Nurses. Spindler was nominated by an individual for the compassion and caring she provided for a family member.

Holy Family Memorial welcomes a new hospitalist, Dr. John MacDonald to the HFM family. He will provide care for patients admitted to the hospital, starting August 5.

American College of Cardiology NCDR Chest Pain—MI Registry Platinum Award recognizes high standards of patient care Holy Family Memorial has received the American College of Cardiology’s NCDR Chest Pain ̶ MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award for 2019. This is the fifth consecutive year that HFM has received the recognition for heart attack care, and they are one of only 225 hospitals nationwide to receive the honor.

Holy Family Memorial has exciting volunteer opportunities for anyone age 15 and older. A variety of assignments are available to fit each volunteer’s needs and interests; options are available for those who would like to interact with patients directly or for those who prefer to be behind the scenes.

Holy Family Memorial is pleased to welcome the addition of Steven Bush, MD and Doreen Krause, APNP to HFM Women’s Health. Dr. Bush is an experienced obstetrician and gynecologist with more than two decades of women’s health experience.

Holy Family Memorial patients can now have their prescriptions filled before leaving the Emergency Room. HFM is the first health care facility in Manitowoc County to offer InstyMeds, a fully automated ATM-style machine that dispenses prescription medications directly to patients.

Holy Family Memorial announced KDC/ONE Northern Labs as the winner of Move Manitowoc—a month-long community step challenge held in May to improve employee health and raise money for a good cause. As the winner, KDC/ONE Northern Labs will donate all competition proceeds, $2,750, to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Wisconsin, Inc.

Holy Family Memorial and its medical staff recently awarded scholarships, totaling $13,000 to seven area students who are attending or will attend an accredited educational institution and have declared a health care-related major. The HFM medical staff awarded the following students with the Holy Family Medical/Dental Endowment Scholarship.

Holy Family Memorial Hospice and a group of local widows will host a God’s Care for Widows on Saturday, August 3. The one-day program is designed for widowed women of any age or faith background and provides an opportunity to explore the emotional, social, and spiritual aspects of their grief.

Holy Family Memorial Wellness Center is pleased to announce it will be launching group exercises classes starting in June that leverage Myzone technology—an innovative wearable heart rate-based system that uses wireless and cloud technology to monitor heart rate, calories burned and physical activity. “We are excited to offer Myzone to our members,” says Lisa Hansen, lead specialist at the HFM Wellness Center.

Holy Family Memorial is partnering with Versiti BloodCenter of Wisconsin to host a blood drive on Tuesday, May 21 from 3-7 p.m. in the Manitowoc Room at the HFM Medical Center, 2300 Western Avenue, Manitowoc.
