Expanding Access to Meet the Needs of the Community
MANITOWOC, Wis. — Residents in Manitowoc and surrounding areas now have access to additional infusion therapy options to meet their health care needs.
Froedtert Pharmacy opened the new specialty infusion suite at Froedtert Holy Family Memorial Hospital Monday, Nov. 17. The suite is located on Level 1 at 2300 Western Ave. in Manitowoc, and will be open initially Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. The suite is similar to other locations in Kenosha, Menomonee Falls, Oak Creek, Mequon, Oshkosh, Waukesha and Wauwatosa. The initiative is delivered through Froedtert ThedaCare and the commitment to enhancing and expanding services for communities.
The suite offers outpatient infusion therapy (also called intravenous or IV therapy) for short- or long-term treatments. This includes administering specialty medication such as IV-IG, iron and other medications meant to treat specialty diagnoses. This does not impact Cancer infusion services.
“We have seen significant growth in demand for specialty infusion services and are quickly adjusting to meet patient needs,” said Brian Graf, PT, DPT, FACHE, vice president of Froedtert Holy Family Memorial Hospital. “This expansion means more patients in the community can get the care they need closer to home. It’s an important step toward making infusion services more convenient and accessible for those we are privileged to serve.”
This convenient, local access to infusion care reduces the need to travel long distances for treatment. The new infusion suite also offers an alternative for patients who currently receive in-home infusions, giving them the option to receive care in a comfortable space.
“Designed around the needs of patients, the suite offers an on-site lab for quick and dependable test results, helping ensure seamless coordination of care,” said Graf. “Each private infusion room includes comfortable seating, Wi-Fi and refreshments to help patients relax during their visit. From the moment patients walk in, they’re met with a welcoming environment focused on comfort, connection and compassionate care.”
Specially trained nurses and care teams, who are experienced in complex infusions, provide personalized care, helping patients feel at ease throughout their treatment. Patients also receive support managing their supplies and infusion pumps. Flexible scheduling options are available to fit each person’s unique needs.
