Mammograms are available at Froedtert Holy Family Memorial Hospital, Froedtert Sheboygan South Taylor Clinic, Froedtert Fond du Lac East Johnson Clinic.

Early Detection is Key

Scheduling your mammogram may not be the first thing on your to-do list, but it should be. Early detection is your greatest ally in the fight against breast cancer. When breast cancer is detected early, the 5-year survival rate is 99% (for localized cancer).

An early detection plan consists of breast self-exams, clinical breast exam and mammograms. The Society of Breast Imaging and the American College of Radiology recommend the following breast cancer screening guidelines:

  • Women should know how their breasts normally look and feel and report any changes promptly to their doctor or clinician. Breast self-exams are optional for women in their 20s.
  • Clinical breast exams are recommended every three years for women in their 20s and 30s and every year for women 40 and older.
  • Yearly mammograms are recommended starting at age 40 for women at average risk of developing breast cancer.

National Accreditation

The Women’s Imaging department at Froedtert Holy Family Memorial Hospital has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in mammography by the American College of Radiology (ACR). The ACR gold seal of accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety. It is awarded only to facilities meeting ACR Practice Parameters and Technical Standards after a peer-review evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field.

Self-Referral Mammograms

Self-referred mammogram appointments are available year-round at Holy Family Memorial. The cost is billed to the patient’s insurance company.

Mammogram appointments are available early morning, daytime and late afternoons to fit your busy schedule. You can often even schedule a mammogram for the same day.
