Personal Philosophy

“My goal is to return my patients to the level of activity they most enjoy with minimal pain and dysfunction. I was a college track & field athlete and raced triathlons as well as marathons for 18 years after, thus I understand how important sports and hobbies are to quality of life.”

“I try to educate my patients about their injuries or medical problems and offer them the full spectrum of options for treatment. I enjoy studying new treatment and techniques, such that patients have the best chance to return to play. Together with the athletic trainers I work with, we incorporate bracing, exercise prescription, taping, biomechanical evaluation, medical imaging, injections, and minimally invasive treatment techniques. I work with a talented group of surgeons if an injury requires more invasive treatment.”

“When I am not seeing patients, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two sons, two horses, dog, and cats. Once I have improved on horseback riding (my current athletic project), I hope to return to road racing.”
