Swim Levels

Children must pass a level before moving on to the next.

  • Level 1

Perfect for beginners, children learn the basics of swimming, focusing on foundational skills and acclimating to the water. Skills taught include floating unsupported, putting the face underwater, safety skills and kicking.

  • Level 2

Level 2 builds upon the skills learned in Level 1, and add breathing, turning over, paddling on their front and kicking on their back for the length of the pool. Children are required to have passed Level 1 or have been evaluated by the swim instructor to begin this level.

  • Level 3

Children will learn the basic swim strokes needed to become a proficient swimmer, including front crawl, backstroke and treading water.

  • Level 4

Children continue to work on stroke development and begin to learn some advanced strokes, such as side stroke and breaststroke. Level 4 prepares children for endurance swimming and reinforces safety practices to allow them to have more independence in the water.
